Vendetta for The Saint

Vendetta for The Saint First appeared as four instalments in The Saint Mystery Magazine May-August 1964. First published hardbacks Crime Club USA, Doubleday (Toronto) Canada 1964, H&S UK (black cloth covers) 1965.
The official line is that this was the last Saint story by Leslie Charteris - from now on, they were admitted to be ‘collaborations’. In fact, there is a lot of circumstantial evidence that this - and several of the previous shorts - were ghost-written (this one was by sci-fi author Harry Harrison).
