Serialised in the Empire News in England as The Black Cat starting in May 1929. First hardcover publishing in England was by Ward Lock in 1929, as The Bandit; in the U.S.A. was by The Crime Club in 1930. This was Leslie’s fourth novel (following on from Meet the Tiger) in 1929. In this story, Ramon Francisco de Castilla Y Espronceda Manrique was the strangely-named hero. Contents:
